October 7, 2012

Broken-down matter; an elevation of commodity to the status of allegory. Allegory and the fetish status of commodity. Walter Benjamin, The Arcades Project [H2, 6]

Possession and having are allied with the tactile, and stand in a certain opposition to the optical. Collectors are beings with tactile instincts. Walter Benjamin, The Arcades Project [H2, 5]
