Fancy a doughnut?

August 10, 2010

We spent a few nice summer mornings in Ljubljana, with coffee, croissants and a certain calmness that becomes the city whose inhabitants have mostly fled for Croatian coast or the most remote parts of the globe.* This year, we are in neither of the groups since we are buying a new apartment. OK, the true reason is that we are selling our current one, fighting off low offers and annoying real estate agents. We have a few “interesting” stories to share. So we have been playing occasional tourists in Ljubljana and doing a few one day trips to the countryside. Ah well, we might make it up in September. Or hope for an Indian summer and sunbathe on hopefully our new terrace.
* I’ll rather turn this into a subject of a separate post.

    Another great shot.

I think it’s great to look at one’s own home town through the eyes of a tourist.

I remember reading once, that many of the best photographs are taken with an attitude of seeing a scene as though it was the first time it has been seen.

To see with the eyes of a child, as it were.
