December 21, 2008

After a month of rain, rain, clouds, fog, rain and some more rain, a bright patch of dirty yellowish winter light crawled onto the kitchen wall during our lunch yesterday.
Could it be…?
The sun?!
Well, it was, but more like one of those “your room has a view of the sea” tricks when you have to climb onto the table, lean out of the window and tilt your head sideways, and if you survive the maneuvering without falling three stories below, you just might catch a glimpse of the blue waterline. Our glimpse of yellow lasted just long enough for us to stare at it in disbelief,
grab our cameras and get the shot of this fast fading fresco. Today we had to drive for an hour and walk another one to see the blue sky, only to swim into the sea of fog on our return.  And yes, I am a bit weather sensitive and these dark, foggy, damp and snow-less winters are just killing me.
