Back
Back from Bosnia: after a week of internet isolation and stuffing with food, it does feel good to be home. It was a standard routine of doing almost nothing: our two greatest preoccupations were keeping the fire alive in the stove and wondering which neighbors will come to see us next. Which means having coffee after coffee after coffee. The highlights, as usual, include a visit to Banja Luka and a visit to the almost deserted villages in the hills. I shall restrain myself from going into details but here is a sneak preview:
– morning tea (in a classic “Jadrolinija” cup from 1980’s) – a tribute to Simply breakfast
– the curious display of high school graduates’ portraits in Banja Luka I
– the curious display of high school graduates’ portraits in Banja Luka II
– a black-eye sight in Banja Luka
– communication: obituaries on vital road crossings and bus stops
– beans on the market – you should have seen the puzzling looks of the sellers when I took this photo
– we had some rain
– a rural snippet
– not my favorite colour
– old pear tree in the wind

For the uninitiated, the obituaries are displayed on the window of a bakery. Now that’s what they call “niche” marketing :))
