The title of this post is an overlooked secret message sent by one of our students. It was “typed” by her forehead as it hit the keyboard when she momentarily passed out during a class today. It was almost like in one of the old movies or Victorian novels when a female character is overwhelmed by emotions or is cornered and she passes out to avoid further confrontation and everybody runs to get the “salts” to wake her up. It all happened just as we begun questioning the authenticity of her work, a matter that we did not pursue further today but to which we will have to get back next week, if she shows up at all. Anyway, it has been a while since I’ve seen an old movie with a fainting scene, let alone a real life one. And they say teaching is a profession of excitements.
Needless to say, the secret message – perhaps one could even read it as a confession of plagiarism – was overlooked by those present. Except for a person with a perverted eye for weird details…
