I think the strange colours of polaroid are a good match for how unreliable memories are.
Transient and inacurate.
Comment by razzbuffnik October 25, 2009 @ 3:14 pmAgree. And as we are on the subject of memory and polaroids – did you see Memento?
Comment by grasswire October 25, 2009 @ 10:35 pmYes I did and for another interesting movie involving photography, have you seen “Proof”?
Comment by razzbuffnik November 15, 2009 @ 11:50 pmActually, I did – it is not amongst the most popular films on photography but makes several really relevant points on meaning and images. I even screen it regularly in my vis. culture class – and tie it with some of postmodern theory of photography. The drive-in movie scene is always fun to watch :)
Comment by grasswire November 16, 2009 @ 10:25 pmPart of Memento can be read in the same way as Proof, i.e. image-caption relationship and meaning fluidity.
