Well, spring has finally arrived. At least that’s how it feels for the past two days. Apparently “kurenti”, the mythological creatures native to a part of Slovenia, did a good job of scaring it away. Although as the speakers on Student radio commented, they must have had a hard time this year as winter and snow switched to guerilla tactics to avoid their clubs. Anyway, the carnival ended today and here is a pic of my favorite carnival costume. It is said to weigh around 40kg (sheep skin, large cow bells etc.) and costs about 2000€ to make. I must admit that of all Slovenian ethnographic pearls, this is my favorite.
